Open Concept Kitchen

This eaglette perched outside the kitchen window surveying Baby Island

A serious kitchen,
fully equipped

  • Large and small pots and pans for any size family..
  • Open to dining room
  • 39 in. high counters; no-back-pain cooking
  • Pull-out chopping boards for sit-down food preparation
  • 2 Garbage disposals, dishwasher
  • Refrigerator, extra large with glass doors
  • Very large propane range and oven and hanging utensil rack
  • Coffee station & 8 ft. serving counter links kitchen to dining room
  • Hand glazed walls by Susan Hyde

Can't get more convenient that this; all dishes are within reach of the dishwasher stored out of sight in beautiful wood cabinets under the counter. (Sorry, it's a little dark in there for the camera)

Newest feature is the utensil rack handy to the stove and out of the way. Large baking pans in the warming oven, large baking sheets under the stove, plenty of all sizes of pots and pans.

The African "powder room" off the kitchen is very convenient also to the gathering room and sitting room.

.

Kitchen and Dining room are nicely integrated and become the center of activity

Through the opening to the sun room next to the stove, the cook will enjoy the water view. To the right you can see part of the very large double glass-door refrigerator--a pop cooler in it's previous life.

.

Great "residential commercial" gas stove with 2x2' griddle, oven large enough for both a turkey and ham at the same time, large drawers conveniently housing pots and pans and a small prep sink with garbage disposal. High counter tops save your back and short wall above hides your activity from the dining room crowd while offering a counter on which to pass your culinary masterpieces to the dining room.

Two deep sinks, a garbage disposal and dishwasher on the left. All the dishes stored in under-counter cupboards on the right--you can put all the clean dishes away without taking a step!

Looking over the sun room to the view from the kitchen. The top of the hot tub is also slightly visible through the window

Built in serving counter, silverware in the drawer at the end of the counter, dishes in the cupboard at the other end
Adjacent to the kitchen, the laundry room in action. Anything you might need including child's jump seat, clothing hand steamer, iron, tablecloths, cleaning supplies, small freezer, large washer and dryer, tools, folding tables etc.
A closer look at my favorite feature of this super-kitchen, the double sliding glass door "pop cooler" refrigerator which holds enough for anything!
