Freeland and Holmes Harbor

From Baby Island Lodge coming into Freeland you see Holmes Harbor and the semi-rural residential area around it.

One road to the right will take you down to Freeland Park and the waterfront.

The one and only Stop Sign in Freeland is just out of sight on the left corner at the Post Office. You can see that the town, tiny, sits just above the water

There is a good grocery store in Freeland and in the same mini-mall is a hardware, pharmacy, florist, fabric store and cafe. Homes on the hill above gives you a good idea of what the town area is like.

Another meaning to "drive-by shooting" is photos through the windshield...it's a cold morning and I'm late to open the shop.

A small area of beach is "Freeland Park" at the foot of the hill.

So, Where exactly is Oasis Bead Lounge?.
At the moment, the Bead Lounge is in a state of flux, being posted on the web as a virtual bead shop. Several hundred beads and their photos are now available for viewing and purchase at: www.oasisbeadlounge.com. More beads are being added daily--it's my full-time activity at the moment..

Above, 41 units of senior housing now finished and occupied, within walking distance of Freeland services.

All of the views on the right are within walking distance of Freeland; take an afternoon to explore the vicinity. Above is a corner of the new 41 unit senior housing development on Scott Road, perhaps an indication of the direction Whidbey is going; Freeland seems to be the focus of growth.
